01/21/2009: "Something for Saturday (Los Angeles)"
A few weeks ago a tiny bicycle customizing shop opened up on Melrose Avenue, right by Larchmont Boulevard, in one of Hollywood's older studio districts. We visited them, and we're probably going to use them when the time comes to paint Gina's mixte project. But meanwhile they've decided to have a party where they can strut their stuff and show some velocipedal artwork as well, and they're inviting everyone to come. In their words:
Bikestyler Customs, a Los Angeles based custom bicycle building and styling service, in collaboration with Quamen Bikes, a leading contender in BMX and mountain bike manufacturing from Buena Park, will showcase custom bikes, new product, and a photo gallery on January 23rd, and 24th 2009. On display will be a collection of art enhanced Quamen Bikes completely stylized by Bikestyler Customs.
Should be a lot of fun, and the samples of their work that we've seen are truly striking. So put it on your calendar:
