Word is the Bicycle Commuter Benefits Act of 2006 is before Congress for a vote right now. The League of American Bicyclists ahs set up a webpage for quick an deasy sending of an email message to your represnetative & senators--all you need to know is where you live in the US. The act would include bicycles in language that permits (not requires) employers to offer subsidies for commuting to their employees. These subsidies, which offer tax advantages to both sides, may currently be offered only to drivers and transit users, leaving out the most efficient vehicle ever invented, the bicycle.
