On Orange 20's blog this week, we ponder Which World Next?, as we explore the types of cyclists LA's often misbegotten bike paths serve, or think they serve.

And on Flying Pigeon LA's blog, I suggest that LA Let It Now Be Resolved that the city will finally stop pandering to motorists in an effort reduce congestion. Because, in case you hadn't noticed, we've tried that for eighty years and it's never worked….

On Orange 20's blog this week, I note that The Times Is on Our Side, with an article in the region's largest paper suggesting that we should use more data and fewer gut reactions in determining street safety policies.

Meanwhile, at Flying Pigeon LA, I recount a battle over whether cyclists might pedal or must simply walk their bikes across a narrow dirt-paved bridge connecting the horsey side of Burbank to Griffith Park, and wonder, Is This Really an Issue?.

CicLAvi and the Future of Los Angeles
Here's a beautifully-made short video exploring the meaning of CicLA via, LA's homegrown open streets event, and what it could mean for the city's future. Well worth five minutes of your time!

Orange 20 reports on good things happening in Santa Monica, where I can Hear My train a-Comin', right from the nearby bike lanes.

But Flying Pigeon LA says, Enough Said. Enough Dead.. Because North Figueroa street has claimed yet another life, the fourth since councilmember Gil Cedillo canceled the road diet that would have made it a safer place for all street users.

"A Place in the Smog" leads off at Orange 20 Bikes this week, with a look at bicycling on Wilshire Boulevard's rush-hour bus/bike lanes in LA.

Then we follow that up with "Good news, Bad News" at Flying Pigeon LA—by which we mean good news for America's cities, and bad news for sprawl and traffic jams. Thanks, in part, to bicycling!

Back to ranting this week, with an article on Orange 20's blog that, inspired by the LA City Council's latest debauch, notes that At Least They're Not Stabbing Us in the Back Any More, opting instead for a full-frontal attack.

Meanwhile my post at Flying Pigeon LA returns to an occasional theme of mine with Additive Neglect, Part Deux, exploring the deterioration of what little bicycle infrastructure does exist in the region.
